Vanuatu... Day One

I have to warn you now this post is REALLY picture heavy so I hope you stick around till the end!!!

I know I usually post my home tours on a Friday and I've got the study and spare bedroom to go...Oh... And the outside of the house to show you yet, but I thought since I have been on holiday to Vanuatu that I would share some of my holiday snaps with you instead.... Lucky you... hehehe {inserting evil laugh!!}....

So, some of these photo's are taken with my iPhone and others with my camera and some are Wendy's shot's too so you will get a whole lot of different perspectives... Please excuse some of the iPhone shots as they are a bit grainy...

Ok, the first shot is of Andy while we are waiting at Adelaide airport at the ungodly hour of 5.45am...

This shot is of our ride in Sydney. We are waiting to board.

This is Vanuatu Airport... Well, the outside of it anyway!

This is {other than change into some shorts and t-shirt} one of the first things Wendy and I did when we got to Mango's resort... Drink cocktails. I forget what this one was called but it was yummy!!!

A shot of Wendy...

Wendy and James... With a "Ya, we are finally on holiday's" look about them!

This is of Andy and me {obviously} taken on our first night there...

When we got to Vanuatu it was raining...Typical! And I think it rained on and off for about 4 days while we were there. It honestly didn't bother any of us because it was so warm and the bonus was we didn't need sunscreen at that point! These next 3 shots were taken from the foreshore of Port Vila...

This one of the main street of Port Vila...

And this is one Wendy took of the markets...

On the first day James and Wendy went on a glass bottom boat tour and got to snorkel with the fishes, jealous!! And Andy and I wondered around Port Vila and I bought my new watch...

Which sadly had to stay at the airport for the duration of our stay because of the whole stupid "Duty Free" thing!

After shopping and looking around a bit Andy and I decided to go and wait for James and Wendy at the near by "Nambawan Cafe" which is pronounced Number One...

James and Wendy didn't take very long and we decided to head back to the resort so they could get changed and then come back down the street so they could also do a bit of shopping...

After we got back Andy had booked in for a massage and James, Wendy and I explored the resort at little bit more...

This is  mine and Andy's bungalow... Number 29!

And some shots of inside... Sorry about the grainy quality...

 Flower...

Views of the Lagoon...

 Wendy relaxing...

Pretty feet!! Wendy's not mine!!

So there you go... Next week I will show you Day Two ...The Waterfalls

Deconstructing Sketch #67 - Happy Bee Day!

I have officially named this card "My Most Busiest EVER card"... Ok, probably not the busiest, but pretty close up there! I think it's the really cool Prima paper that does it.

I started this week's Deconstructing Sketch Challenge looking at Jen's fabulous sketch and thinking to myself... What the world am I going to put on that tag? Sentiment or image? What to do...What to do!!

As you can see I decided to go with option number 2 and chose this little cutie image from Tiddly Inks {surprise, surprise} called "Happy Be Day".  The very first thing I did was stamp out the tag using my tag stamp from Hero Arts. Then choosing some of the funky papers from the Doodle Deux 6x6 paper pad that I had decided I wanted to use on the card and following the sketch, I put it all together.  I sewed...yes, again...I sewed around the edges and also around the edges of the layered tag. Added the "Happy Bee Day" sentiment, the flower from Prima and the ribbon and it was all done!

We have some really exciting news for you as well today and that is that our lovely past guest artist Tracey Pickersgill has said yes to becoming a full time Deconstructing Sketch Girl!!! Ya!! We all love Tracey and all think she is just so sweet and amazing!! So give her a big welcome!!

If you'd like to join us this week all you need to do is create a project using the above sketch as inspiration. There are no specific image requirements for this challenge. Upload your project to your blog or to an online gallery and link it back to Jen's Blog using the Inlinkz.

Want your sketches a little early? Follow the Deconstructed Sketch on Facebook!! And if you are looking for some older sketches to dig through you can find them in the Deconstructed Sketchbook.

And be sure to hop around and check out what the rest of the Deconstructed Sketch Design Team has made!

Bug's and Kisses...

Usually today I would greet you with a new Tiddly Inks challenge but Christy and us girls are taking a little break for a bit { Till Sept 18th to be exact} but that doesn't stop me from wanting to colour up and share with you all the new images ;0).

For today's card I used one of the brand new Anna Belle images called Bug's and Kisses. You can find this sweet image HERE in the Tiddly Inks Store. I began by opening the image in PS and then I opened the sentiment image and layered it on top of the Anne Belle image. You receive the sentiment, along with a few other extra images when you buy them . Did I also mention you can buy it all in a clear stamp set?!

I then printed it all out on white card stock and coloured Anna Belle and her little hedgehog friend { I am assuming that's it's a hedgehog as we don't have them in Australia} in with my Prismacolor pencils. I sewed {what's that you say?? Donna...Sewing...Yes, I sewed!!!} around the edge of the image and then using one of my new MME's 6x6 paper pads from The Sweetest Thing collection this one is called "Lavender" I finished off the card.... Along with a flower, butterfly punch {Martha Stewart}and some Kaiser Craft pearls....

If you want to see more amazing Tiddly Inks inspiration please go and visit the  Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog  or why not drop in and see us on our FB page HERE and say hello! All the ladies are very friendly and love to share...

Twenty Twelve Catch Up...

Since I missed out blogging my Twenty Twelve post on Monday due to me flying home from Vanuatu I thought I would do a catch up post and share my photo's today instead!

Day 224 - This is a shot from the window of the airplane on our way to Sydney to catch the flight to Vanuatu. It takes about 2 hours from Adelaide to Sydney and then 2 1/2 to 3 hours from Sydney to Vanuatu.
Day 225 - This is a shot of the foreshore at Port Vila. Andy and I spent the morning wandering around the town while Wendy and James went on a glass bottom boat tour.
Day 226 - The four of us went to the beautiful Cascade Waterfalls. They were absolutely stunning!!
Day 227 - Today we went sailing and snorkeling. It was my first time snorkeling and I can honestly say this was by far my most favourite thing we did while we were in Vanuatu. This is a shot from Paradise Cove of the boat that took us there. Paradise Cove is about a 20 minute sail from Port Vila.
Day 228 - Today Wendy, James and I went horse riding in the jungle {Andy went scuba diving because he's not a big fan of horses to put it mildly...}. This was the wettest day while we were in Vanuatu but it was more of a little inconvenience than a disappointment. The view from the top of the hill was amazing...As well as the size of the spiders...But we won't get into that!
Day 229 - Today was a day for the boys {but I think Wendy and I really enjoyed it too!!}. We went Buggy Jungle Riding. All I can say it that I don't mind the mud but they can keep the cow s__t to themselves!! In Vanuatu they drive on the right hand side of the road which was a bit strange for us Aussies but it was a great day out... After we had a shower!!!
Day 230 - Was our last day in Vanuatu. This is a shot of Nambawan Cafe where we had great coffee and INTERNET!!!!

I will be posting more shots {Wendy got some AMAZING underwater shots} next Friday...
